I doubt it, otherwise that old saying "don't shoot the messenger" would not be so well known or at least be infamous due to it's ironic sarcasm. So no I honestly don't think Matt Cooper was responsible for yesterdays events.
He was just the author of a local newspaper article that seemed to be the first official announcement that yesterday was the start of many great days due to being more aware by a mass awakening (my thoughts anyway)
The writer from the newspaper article was quoting Andy Bryant. The Register Guard (Eugene newspaper) printer that Andy worked for the Portland office of National weather service. The month of May up until yesterday has been rainy and cold compared to a more typical Oregon year, at least it seemed so to me. Which is a big reason I was so glad that I read across his quote
"It's going to happen (today)" Bryan said "definitely. It shouldbe a gorgeous day"
and it was
I do not know whose fault it was or who was reasponsible, But Saturday was the beginning, it DID happen.
lots of things happened the newspaper was stuffed with all kinds of heartfelt articles. The was something special about yesterday that happened, it changed today.
Natalie Flynn wrote an article that spoke to me. It was about a one room school that first opened in 1887 and was closing it's doors after 123 years of teaching. The story of the students last day of school because it was the start summer and the tiny school closing for good as students were dispersed elsewhere. The school's teacher (one of only two) said many things to the kids that really gave you a sense of what it was like to attend such a small school.
one of the things Mike Clarke (one of two teachers) said to his kids was
"you people fight like brothers and sisters because you are" and "You will always be family and Maple Grove is something you will always know and cherish"
It felt like every other article in yesterdays paper had the same beautiful message.
like the weather man said "It's going to happen (today)"
and it did
6/12/2010 was the day it all started and it was just the beginning. So if you felt something yesterday deep inside you,it might have been this.
